Hi All.

Last night, as part of our PSVP Partner Education, we served meals at the East End Cooperative Ministries soup kitchen and men’s shelter. The Shelter and kitchen in located in the East Liberty Presbyterian Church. Many of our Partners actually made covered dish meals to serve.

Big time Kudos to PSVP Partner Erin Queen for organizing the event.

Here is a copy of an email I received from PSVP Partner Magali Curiel describing what last night meant to her.

“It was a pleasure being part of yesterday’s feeding the poor event. It opened my eyes to a new reality in Pittsburgh and USA.

Living in a country, which is consider the richest country, still there are many men going to bed in shelters and depend on volunteers to feed them.

It makes me thankful to the Lord God for his provisions in my life.

One sad note however, I wished more PSVP partners would have join the 5 of us to help serve and feed the underprivileged.

I left East End with an empty, desperate and sad feeling. I wished we had more food to feed them not only once but until they were satisfied.”

What has opened your eyes lately?
