At the 2011 PSVP Fall Pitch event, the voting audience chose Fitwits as the winner of PSVP’s technical assistance for 18 months. In November, several PSVP partners (Steve Robinson, Bill Slivka, Pat Calhoun and Lead Partner, Patty Jones) and director Elizabeth Visnic met with the Fitwits’ founder, Kristin Hughes who is an Associate Professor at the Carnegie Mellon University School of Design. Joining them were a team of CMU professionals including Reed McManigle for Business Development and Licensing and Tim Cunningham an Adjunct Professor teaching in the Entrepreneurial Programs at Tepper. The group met to discuss the use of Fitwits in an upcoming course at the Tepper School of Business. The Designing and Leading a Business course is a team-based project course involving students across the Carnegie Mellon Campus. The 2012 course will look at the key drivers in the Fitwits business model and target the preferred path for achieving community wellness goals along with measurable business financials.
Once the strategy that targets financial and operational sustainability is identified, PSVP Partners and the Fitwits team will work together to carry out that plan.
