Events
Spring & Fall Pitch (2 programs per year)
- PSVP defines a specific program focus area for each event (examples include: Early Childhood Learning, Juvenile Crime Prevention, etc.)
- Non-profit organizations apply for PSVP support
- PSVP Selection Committee narrows to two finalists
- Finalists are coached to prepare for pitch presentation
- Finalists “pitch” PSVP partners and guests at Spring/Fall Pitch event
- Votes cast at event, Investee selected
- $15,000 along with PSVP partner time committed each event
Fast Pitch (tentatively scheduled for January 2011)
- Any non-profit working with at-risk children within Allegheny County is encouraged to apply
- 15-20 Semi-finalists will be selected
- Semi-finalists will be coached for pitch presentation
- Team of coaches will narrow 15-20 groups to 10 finalists
- Finalists will “pitch” audience of 200-300 guests at a high-end dinner event
- All present will vote
- $20-30,000 straight cash prize will be awarded that evening.
“Get Smart” Sessions (2 programs per year)
- Between the Fall Pitch and Spring Pitch, partners will be invited to a “Get Smart” session where a speaker will educate the partnership on the issues relating to the focus area for the upcoming Pitch.
